NICE TO MEET YOU!

"Every situation in life is temporary. So, when life is good, make sure you enjoy it and recieve it fully. And when life is not so good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on the way."

- Jenni Young

My name is Nilla Paine. Please, do not feel defeated if you are sitting there, thinking to yourself what the correct pronunciation of my name is as you most likely had it right the first time. It is Nilla like 'the Wafer' or like 'Vanilla'.

I am passionate about pursuing a career in anything and everything engaging and creative. I am stimulated by complex combinations of sounds and colors.

I once felt a personal connection with a graphic T-shirt that read, "There are three types of people in this world. Those who are good at math and those who arent" and it has been my driving force ever since. I am proud to relate to the more right-brained folk as an intuitive, thoughtful and subjective thinker.

In addition to the t-shirt, I connect deeply to the Korean concept of Nunchi which signifys the subtle art and ability to listen and gauge others' moods. Nunchi could be described as the concept of emotional intelligence. It is of central importance to the dynamics of interpersonal relationships.

I ADORE PEOPLE, making friends and learning from others. I whole-heartedly believe in the saying, "If you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room." I believe that our own personal growth can only be sustained if we remain open to others.

I am extremely proud of my wall of posters.

I am known by many for having creative instagram usernames that play off of my own name. For example, nilly_goat_grufff, nillas_in_paris, its_always_sunny_in_Nilladelphia, to_Nilla_Mockingbird, No_Paine_no_Gain, and so on. I have a list of over 40. Additionally, I often get a text a week from someone asking for an instagram caption or new username.

When it comes to costume parties, do not expect to see me dressed-up in something "normal". For instance, I dressed up in a life-size, plush crocodile costume for a school homecoming dance. I pulled off an uncanny Captain Jack Sparrow. I once suited up in a full-body Incredibles costume. I dressed up as Amanda Bynes in her twiiter stage. I went to an event themed "Thank Goodness I'm Not....." and created the only appropriate naked costume.

I am prone to injury and bruise easily.

As a student studying advertising and music business at the University of Georgia, and additionally being a competitive member on the University of Georgia women’s lacrosse team, I feel that I posses the qualities and strengths necessary to succeed in the world of creativity. Both of these experiences thus far have taught me valuable skills in time management, communication, organization, team work, and punctuality. I am extremely driven and hard working, I am personable, I am intuitive and I have a colorful mind. I hope to paint the world.
